Don't know if this fixed it for good or not. Also, I'd like to mention that I ran NAV in Safe Mode last week and it didn't find this item, so either the file is new or the updates added it. I hope you guys solve this because I have a ladies PC here that has almost the identical problem.

The list of programs start out fine, but then about three quarter through it starts to show black vertical lines that last many, many, many scrolls. Just about everything shown in an HijackThis log is important to proper operation of your computer. Can you tell us how much RAM you have in your system? I see a few minor things in your log that could be fixed, but could you first post a new one please?
That one didn't come out right for some reason and is a bit hard to read And will be hard to reply to. Here is the new copy of the log. I did find out that it was a program called Ringtone Ripper that was causing the black lines. That problem went away when I uninstalled it. But I do still have the slow shut down problem and hanging program.
