Ebay last bid program
It is totally fair. Everyone has the same amount of time to place their highest bid. It is your own fault for not bidding your maximum bid the first time you bid. No need to rebid. BTW, you got outbid by a person. They used a bid sniping tool but you used Ebay to bid.
Software vs software. Highest bid wins so bid like a sniper is coming. Neither of you will get a second chance to raise your bid. I've hit confirm bid on auctions that were 2 seconds from ending and gotten what I wanted, no 3rd party snipe service needed. There's a feature which ebay doesn't offer called a "soft close. Every time I do a seller survey, I ask for it As far as your situation, if you want to bid effeciently, I would encourage you to use an auction sniping program. It takes a lot stress out of bidding -- all that watching and following.
You enter your bid on the sniping website, and forget about it. Then the sniping site notifies you whether you won or lost. The one I use charges a teeny percentage of the selling price, well worth it as it has saved me from getting into expensive bidding wars.
It also prevents me from getting caught up in the moment and overpaying. Thank goodness eBay doesn't do this. I'd have to use just BINs if they did.
I can also imagine the never-ending auction, lol! It's totally unnecessary.. Not only does it hold the prospect to derange the lives of buyers and sellers by messing with their ability to plan their actions around definite end times, what makes you think that someone who can't decide how much to bid in the 1, 3, 5, 7, or 10 days an auction lasts is going to be able to do so with an infinite number of extensions at hand? However, I can see how a shiller might view the prospect as being near to paradise.
They would have an infinite amount of time to fiddle with things to boost prices. So you're a seller who wants to encourage bidders to bid the minimum amount, instead of placing their maximum bid. What an odd philosophy. Or do you really think that if you change the format, no one will change their bidding behavior? Turn on suggestions. Auto-suggest helps you quickly narrow down your search results by suggesting possible matches as you type.
